I was told by BRP Tech Support that a 4 blade prop is not recomended for a 90 HP E-Tec. His words "You don't want to use a 4 blade on that motor." I ask "Why not?", he says, "You just don't!" This is not a good answer for me. Does anyone have a better answer?

My "inside" guy at Bombardier has told me the same thing. They're looking at, or for, something but he didn't say what. My guess is a vibration issue but that's only a guess.

A 4 blade prop has a worse prop efficiency due to increased water turbulences, so max speed will decrease.
The best efficiency would have a one blade type but at the price of a bad running comfort.
The best compromise between efficiency and running smoothness would offer the 3 blade type.
Evinrude is right.
