My Great-Grandmother, who was what we call a High Episcopalian used to get into the Mogen David Kosher wine occasionally.

She was elderly and though that it was "Morgan David"--a good Welsh wine. :p

Jinx

Yep, sounds like a true Welsh woman.

Eeh, the Weslh can be equally divided into two groups: but this is a family-orientated website so we won't go there :D

Some great folks come from there though: Tom Jones, Shirley Bassey, Richard Burton, Charlotte Church, the Welsh Rugby Club ;) ;)

Re: Question for Mr. Deezy

I know a Welsh family well. They only drink beer and wine as far as I know. I have never had any whisky with Roy, and Anne drinks white wine. I have to admit they now live in the Reading area and may have been tainted by civilization . . .

I am personally in love with Conwy (North Wales), and have been in a few pubs there. They don't seem any different than an English or Scottish pub to me.

Also, how did you miss Catherine Zeta-Jones?

Welsh Dragon cocktail. The drink lists gin, vodka, Cointreau, orange and cranberry juice among the ingredients.

Nah that was a nasty rumour put around by a lovelorn Welshman after his ahem,"girlfriend" rejected him ;) Apparently she was mutton dressed as lamb anyway :D

How could I miss Catherine Zeta-Jones? Hmmm, perhaps because she wouldn't fancy me: I'm under the age of 90 :D

Quietcat,

There is 1 major differance between an English and Scottish pub:

In an English pub you will always meet a friendly local who is willing to buy you a drink.

In a Scottish pub you will meet a friendly local who is willing to let you buy the drinks.

:D :D ;) :p

The Welsh invented Whiskey and most corn-based liquor.

The Welsh invented stout (including the recipe for what is now branded as 'Guinness').

Captain (Henry) Morgan, the infamous Pirate and rum producer, was Welsh.

Here's a Welsh festival you can all attend:
http://www.neilwarnock.f2s.com/gwbcf/drinks.htm :)

Re: Question for Mr. Deezy

The Welsh introduced me to "Barley Wine".I do not know if it is purely Welsh, but so far it has beaten any beer hands down.
