Question For my fellow Startcraft tin owners - Trolling motor

Has anyone mounted a trolling motor on a 16' or 18' SS hull? I was given a nice trolling motor and I have been considering mounting it. I have even been thinking about a modification to the railing to accommodate it.

Anyone have photos?


I have NOT splashed yet this year. Since my boat motor sat in storage for almost 18+ months I decided to go through the entire motor. Here is a hint.....with replacement knees it is VERY tough to mount the lower unit alone. I should be splashed next week

Dozer's SS 201 has bow mount TM , some pics here: http://forums.iboats.com/starcraft-boats/1986-ss-201-a-543074-42.html

I know some others have done it. Maybe browse through the SS section of the SC rebuilds & restos.

Careful with the knees. Bob. How long since you got "knee'd"?

Bob, Seen a few here where the rail was cut and an additional rail support was added or the rails ends are bent down and deck fittings are used.

Glad to hear you're close to splash time. Pics are needed.

Thanks for asking! Well the left one was a year old in May and the right one will be a year old around mid July. The right one still gives me problems.

I guess I have to just get the trolling motor in hand and play with the position.
