I can understand your concern middleground. As a Johnny/Rude dealer, I have heard no kind of "scuttelbutt" as you are concerned with. I suppose that someday parts will get scarce for the older engines. The only thing I have seen and experienced is that technical service for engines before 1990 is no longer being offered to the dealers.....however....I've called a couple times and they did help on a couple problems with the "older" engines.
