Question on 1977 70 hp vs 1973 65hp

I've got someone coming by to look at my 1977 70 hp Johnson as a replacement for an "about" 1973 65 Hp Johnson with a blown powerhead.

I know my 1977 uses different controls etc. from my 1981 115 Evinrude, but would the 1973ish and 1977 use the same controls, trim etc.?

Just want to know how big a swap this is for the potential purchaser. I want to sell all the controls etc. but his set up may be nicer than mine.

Besides, as soon as I sell the 70, I can put my 115 on.

he needs the complete unit motor and controls. 73 was a complete different linkage. here is a current mix problem.

While it may not be what I wanted to hear, it is what I needed to hear.

Really, makes no difference to me and just a bit more work for the guy buying it. But I will let him know he does need all the controls etc.

Oh. And he did come by (surprise # 1) and did want the motor so we do the swap Saturday.
