Hello,

I have a 1965 evinrude 75 horse. It Runs well, but I just found out the the alternator, or charging unit is beyond repair.

Anyone know of a place to get a part like this?

How many starts/hrs will I get off of a fully charged battery?

Any suggestions on what to do would be appreciated!

Thanks

Need better infomation. If it has an alternator, it must be electric shift. And if that is the case, it must have battery ignition. And if that is the case, it needs a charged battery just to run and keep it in gear. So, starting is not the only issue.

However, if it has a DC generator and magneto ignition and manual shift, you are correct, the battery is only used for starting. "How many" is a theoretical question. Depends on how hard it is to start and the battery capacity. Lets' just say it will start a bunch of times. And you can always rope start it in emergency.

So...what do you have???
