ok. Looks like my power steering ram may be leaking a bit. Not a big deal (yet) but I want to get my ducks in a row. Looks like the ram is NLA, as is the Volvo equivalent. (this is an SX in Drag Cobra)

Are the two interchangeable? if so, the Volvo piece is a bit cheaper, and I can get rebuild kits with new seals for them (if they arent the same as the OMC already). I dont see seal kits for the OMC specifically... exploded drawings are useless, they just show the whole unit, and not the seals.

Unless they did something crazy, the “seals” are just o-rings.

Tear the cylinder down and measure the orings. Go to local hardware store for replacements

fine idea, but most hardware stores you cant find a screw or bolt of a correct size, let alone something as "complicated" as an o-ring.... our Ace Hardware is pretty much useless in that respect.... and I would rather not have the boat down for as long as it would take to order from McMaster-Carr...... If a "set" is available, then thats the route Ill go....

Don't know where your located, but McMaster is overnight delivery to us.
A local hydraulic supply house would have what you need
