I have a 1992 Seaswirl 190 swl, 4.3l with cobra outdrive. I cannot find information about which size prop would be ideal. It currently has a 15x17, it does run good, tops out at 43mph at 5000 rpm wot, I am looking to see if anyone knows of a better prop for max speed and holeshot?

Ayuh,... Generally speakin', you can 1 or the other but rarely both...

I'd think a 19" pitch would get the rpms at Wot down to the 4800 you should be seein'....

Yeah as bond-o said, you usually get one of the other. I've read that one way you can theoretically improve holeshot and top end speed, is to have your local prop guru add a little more aggressive cup to your blade. WOT RPM will go down as well. The cup should "bite" the water better for holeshot, and increase top speed.

Someone else with more knowledge can expound on this.

Re: Question on props

My info indicates you have 205 hp 1.68 gear ratio. 4600 rpm
With a 17" your hole shot should be ok maybe even good.It does appear
your overreving so a 19" would help get your rpm closer to 4600 and likely improve top end.
Unfortunately it will likely slow your hole shot.
Be sure to trim in for hole shot and move people forward especially if you have 2 or three sitting along the stern.
