Question on refilling drive oil...

The manual says to lower the drive unit so that the anti-ventilation plate is level before refilling. How critical is this? My driveway where I park the boat is on a grade and I can't put the trim all the way down without the skeg hitting the concrete. It's maybe at a 10 - 20 degree angle. Will this cause a problem by creating an air gap when I refill?

Thanks

It's not that critical... You will get a small amount of air trapped in the bottom box.... Just keep an eye on the bottle inside the engine bay... As you run the air will move up the leg and eventually the oil in the bottle will replace it, but the bottle will go down. Just keep it topped up...
