I have a question for you guys, on the threads for a fuel line, either a barb or the flared steel lines, would you put any type of sealent on the threads when installing them to the Fuel pump or Carb?

Also is Teflon Tape a NO, NO? I take it that it is, as the gas would break this down.

I do have Perfect Seal in the can from Mercruiser, so I already have this and was thinking to use this, but just wanted to make sure it was ok.

Don't fuel lines have a double flair at the end of the line to seal the line to the carb?
you should not have to seal the threads, I think.

NEVER use sealer on a "Flared" fitting, the "Flare" does the sealing! Use sealer on "Pipe" threads. A "barb" makes it's own seal also.

Is there a sealer that is Non-Dielectric?

Re: Question on Sealing threads on fuel line

I got it guys. I was just making sure, I did not need to put anything on it when I redo my Fuel Line for the Carb.

Thanks,
Bryan
