when some boaters are adding rv coolant or antifreeze to their boat systems, how are they doing that? are they taking hoses apart and adding it or are they sucking them up threw the water intake on the lower unit. sorry im new to this boating stuff.

my boat is a 1989 four winns 170 freedom with a 2.3l inline ford. with a cobra stern drive.

basically im asking how to get the antifreeze into my entire system.

thanks for the help fellas.

Re: question on winterizing

drain everything. there are stickies at the top of the forum. if you want to put antifreeze in the system after you completely drained everything, then I recommend pouring it in the hoses at the thermostat housing.

trying to suck it thru the drive and get a complete fill usually leads to a cracked block.

however if you do a good job at draining, air will not freeze.
