Ok so I was going to order the stuff for the project boat but questions arose so I thought I would check before I make the order.

1st

Im ordering a new rotary steering system I did the a + b + c +6" thing
A being center of wheel to gunwhale B the dash to transom and C and this is where the questions start. the description of c is "Gunwale to centerline of cable connection at centered tiller."

Not knowing what the heck that meant I measured from the gunwhale to the center of my outboard in the splash well. This gonna work for me? My boat is a 79 crestliner crusader 550 15 foot openbow. If the measurments I took are right then I need a 13 foot cable sound right to you or do I need to adjust where I am measuring to?

2nd

I need to know how to tell if I have a cable that "Cable Install through Engine Tilt Tube:" or "Cables Mounted Transom, Splashwell or Stringer" How do I tell what does that mean exactly?

ok now onto the second set of questions I am ordering paint the top and sides not too worried bout the bottom seems like alot of work. My question is if I buy a cheap spray guy to spray it on what type of paint is best in the iboats interlux paint selection also would it be better to roll and tip? seems like that would take an incredible amount of time to do the whole boat. but lets say thats the best way to go what all do I need paints, primers, thinners, gloss coats? I dont know anyway thank you for all the help ~josh

the top is one type of transom mount, the bottom is tilt tube. i always add 1 foot to the length, rather be long than short.

TD,

How about sending me a PM telling me where you found the "transom mount " for the cable steering shown in the picture you posted in this thread. THX
