I am hoping I can get some quick advise. I need to replace my bunks, and I was thinking to use the plastic lumber. I tried to do a search but no it doesn't seem to be as popular a topic as I thought it would be.
Does anyone have any info on weather or not this is a viable option for trailer bunks? I would plan on putting carpet or bunk slides on it just as I would with a regular piece of wood
again any advise would be appreciated.
Thanks,
Matt

I don't think you would be able to staple the carpet to the plastic boards. Also, not sure of the load rating on that material as well. Stick with lumber. Unless you want to be the guinea ...

Re: Quick bunk advise

Thanks guys,
went with treated 2x6x10's and some grey indoor/outdoor carpet from home depot. Used roofing nails to hold the carpet on and 5/8"x3 1/4" galvanized screws to hold the bunks on.
I had to put a "riser" (2x6x1') on each mounting bracket to get the bunks high enough so the boat would clear the fenders. I know it's not the right trailer for this boat but that's how the previous owner had it and it's worked for me so far. Would like to get a better trailer but they seem to be hard to come by.
