Quick "Pilot" ????

Ok, I Posted a thread eirlier about my speedometer not working properly, I was advised to clean the pilot, what would be good to let it soak in(WD-40)?? then blow it out with air compresser be good enough?

disconnect from back of speedo, and blow air thru it. you also could have a hole worn in the hose, letting the air pressure out. but that usually shows it self as a leak, water in the boat.

Ok I have the Pilot off right now, air compresser pumped up and ready, The speedometer jumped up and down Between 35-44mph. irractically over the weekend on the water. I am going to blow it out right now be back in a few, Thanks TASH>>>Pat

OK TASH, I blew the air through and it popped right off the speedo I went to connect it to the speedo I noticed it was stretched out,so I cut it and now its snug again, Thanks I will see what it does next time out, We try to go as often as we can on the weekend(even if for a day) will know soon. FYI, that is a pitot, not a pilot.
