My 14' Starcraft boat has a 1986 30 hp mariner on it and it had a 9 7/8x10 1/2 F prop on it.

Now I just bought a 10 7/8 x 11 prop- what will the changes be? They told me it was going to be very un-noticable, is this true?

So basically:
9 7/8 x 10 1/2
vs.
10 7/8 x 11

whats the difference?

Thanks.
-John

Sounds OK to me.

You might see a little more top end speed at wide open throttle, if you are not overloaded for your motor power/boat combo.

The old prop (9 7/8) should give you a faster hole shot (get to plane faster).

But it may not even be noticable.

Re: quick question about props

I would check the service manual first. You are going to a larger diameter prop with more pitch. That is a good way to ruin a motor. I would stick with factory specifications for motors. My service manual gives me 5 choices, and basically the larger the diameter the lesser the pitch.

FYI

Arlan
