Guys, I've got everything connected in my boat.

The 90hp Nissan I bought is ready to be fired up. I was just going to run a tank of 87 ocatane fuel, because it is oil injected. Well, I was reading the Nissan Owners Manual, and it says after the engine has been stored for a few months (this has been stored for about 3), you should run 5 gallons of 50:1 mix in it before you run just regular gas.

Is this a good idea, or no? I assume that since the manual says to do it, it probably wont hurt. However, I figure that if it is oil injected AND it has oil in the gas, wont it leave a lot of carbon on the pistons/plugs? Or will they go un-affected?

Anyone ever heard of, or recommend this?

Any other recommendations for a first time fire-up of an engine that has sat for 3 months?
Will the impeller go bad from sitting like that, or should I be ok?

Thanks guys!

Shawn
