The question is not if I should use them as I am going too (either these or the Fentress)

I have no choice. I cannot get the boat off the bunks at a shallow ramp..... same problem as my previous boat, installed the sliders & life was good.

The question is: Will they mark the boat?

Cabellas has the kit I need on sale, but the white are backordered while the black are in stock.

My boat is white. Fiberglass.

Yes I searched. No results :)

Thanks, those look nice.

I'm new to trailering this year and we launch at a relatively shallow ramp so I'm curious... Why don't more people use the slides. Are there any cons with them?

Re: Quick Question RE: E-Z Slide Trailer Pads

Thanks everyone.

I can only think of one bad thing about them Adrift & that is you have to keep your winch strap attached while backing......
I've heard of boats sliding off on their own, but I never had that problem with my old boat (even w/ slides it took some work getting the boat off)

With my new boat & slides I think I will keep the strap attached until I hit the water.

Thanks Gary. Those sliders do look nice. It appears the cost may be double, but if they are solid pieces I think it will be worth it. Plus I can get a custom length made up.......so I think I'll go check out my boat & see how much I would need. (I should only need like 6-7' on a 17' boat.....right? All the "sliding" needs to be done at the rear of the bunks.....right??? : or do I want the entire bunk length?) )

Thanks. I do this anyway.

I'm going to look into these further. If I retrieve too deep the boat sometimes misaligns on the bunks. Too shallow and it's a struggle to get all the way to the bow stop. We have to power load which can be a little "uncomfortable".

Re: Quick Question RE: E-Z Slide Trailer Pads

I've been looking at ways to get my FasTrac Regal off the trailer more easily. The stepped hull has proven to be slightly problematic on a couple fronts, but requires the trailer be put in a little farther to be able to float it off by giving it enough clearance for the first "step" in the hull.

It would help if my Trailmaster would sling the boat a little lower, and adding additional height to the bunks could just aggravate my situation. Anyone else have a stepped hull with these or similar boards?
