Re: Quicksilver 2-4-C lubricant

If you're operating in saltwater, the price of the Quicksilver 2-4-C waterproof grease just might be worth it. I paid $8 for a tube of it and it should last me the rest of my life, and my peace of mind is worth something. I use it on drive shaft splines, prop shaft splines, lower unit bolts, water pump replacement jobs. But like Bond-O says, any grease better than no grease!

Ayuh,... 2-4-C is pretty unique grease, I buy it in 4 tube cases from my local Merc dealer, just to have on hand...

But,....

Re: Quicksilver 2-4-C lubricant

Is there anything a little cheaper, that will do the same job?

I don't think I am getting your question......

2-4-C sells for about $15/tube and most multi-purpose greases sell for about $7-8

Even if you use the entire tube up in a year (mine has lasted for 3 or 4 years..)

You're only talking $15/YEAR!

Don't take this wrong..........but if you're worrying about that much money, how do you buy gas?

Just buy the big tube. I seem to use that stuff for everything.
