Hi folks what performance should i expect from a s/s Suzuki DT8, and would doelfins give me anything extra?

Right around 20mph or a little more with one person. That will be a fun boat!

thats cool, sounds about right for what i need, how about those doelfins, will that do what they claim, ie ease up onto the plane, improved economy ect.

Yes, the Doelfin may help a little. I'd drive the boat first without it though. It should perform nicely without it. That's a good boat, motor combination.

No, but post any questions you have in the Suzuki forum and you'll get plenty of answers.

hi there, i'm just back from south central Dalmatia with the inflatable, thought i would let you know the boat performed really well, tried the DT8 without the doelfin then with, it went well without, but better with. It needed slightly finer trimming but when it was right it flew. cheers

Re: Quicksilver 270

.... that is not too difficult .... you can either just swop the powerheads or you can do it properly and take the short shaft off (it bolts off under the tray) you need to take the powerhead off anyway, get the short one resprayed etc and then swop the 2 shafts ... inspect it closely ten you will see what I mean ...

Re: Quicksilver 270

man i love outboards.....started to dismantle the s/s so thought i would drop the gearcase and have a look at the impeller/change the gear oil etc, two of the four bolts sheared off! Any way thanks for the info, there are six bolts under the tray 4 of which thread into the block, once these are removed will the shaft be free?
