I just replaced the trim switch on my quicksilver 3000 shifter. Putting everything back together I noticed that the plastic part that the out-of-gear fast idle button presses against is cracked. this is the piece that sits behind the hollow bolt/nut that holds the handle on. The fast idle button shaft passes thru this bolt/nut combo and presses against this part. I actually pulled a small piece of this plastic material out with tweezers. Everything is back together and works fine, BUT I'm not comfortable with something that I don't feel is 100%. Is this piece easily replaceable? Any advice on how to get to it. Entire shifter disassembly required? (probably not within my capabilities or comfort zone, anyway). Also, a manual, exploded view or diagram seems to be somewhat elusive to me. I have found some generic info in the repair manuals I have looked at, and on-line. ANy help there would be appreciated, too.
I'm open to suggestions...and thanks.
