Just bought a boat and the tilt and trim was wired to the dash on a rocker switch...straight to the pump motor. I know this isnt right. My controls (quicksilver 3000) has a tilt and trim switch in the throttle handle, like most. Also coming out of my harness under the cowl, there is the blue and green wires not connected to anything. Are those coming from my control handle? I know you need the blue and green, but you also need a power wire to energize that switch.
I guess I need to know where those wires from the switch go from my handle. Do they go towards the console, or back to the motor? Is the other end of them what I am finding under my cowl.
Currently there is nothing tilt and trim related under the cowl, other than those to blue and green wires that arent hooked to anything.
I need to know basically how to do this.
For reference its a force (merc) 40hp, 1994 model.
I have ordered the harness that comes with the two relays, group of red wires, and black wires, one set of bigger blue and green that goes to pump and another set of smaller ones that go to a switch.
help getting this right would be appreciated.
Ill post a reply that has the one picture of the wires inside the cowl.
