quicksilver 3000 neutral lock doesnt work

My neutral lock on a Quiksilver3000 does not work. has anyone tore one of these apart for teh same problem. i have taken the back off and doused with wd-40 to no avail. the button will push but will not activate shifting override. help me please

Push the throttle only button in and push the throttle forward. Now pull out the throttle only button and remove it. It pops out.You might need a sall flat head screwdriver to get it started <br /><br />This will reveal a hex head bolt, remove it and the handle should pull off. Them separate the handle in half. That bolt should get some Loctite when you put it back in.

tucker1 i appreciate that the only problem is that i cant get the shifter to go foward when the button is depressed. can you still help me!!!!

I have not had that problem, It sounds like you might have a jam in the cables. <br /><br />Good Luck

Fixed it with an override button and a prayer putting that assembly back together. wow your advise did work thanks tucker!!!!!
