Hope someone can give me directions on replacing the warning horn(beeper) in my Commander 2000 Remote Control. My warning horn crackles a little and is fried I believe. Never had these apart before so I want to be cautious about getting to the warning horn. I have a diagram of the inners of the control, but if someone has a word of advice for me I'd greatly appreciate it. I purchased a warning horn for this control and just need someones direction before tearing it apart to replace the horn. I guess its near the top of the control according to the pics and it just has bullet style plugins so it should be somewhat uncomplicated to do?

The horn is wired between the switched 12v (purple or red/purple stripe) and a tan wire that goes out to the engine via the electrical wiring harness. The tan wire connects to a tan or tan light blue stripe wire in the engine which is grounded in the engine when a failure occurs that requires the warning horn to blow. I never looked in a 2000 particularly to see the horn but have seen the ones used with the 3000 and are wired in the harness adjacent to the unit. As I recall it's a black pellet about the size of a quarter-half dollar with 2 terminals with the colors of wire connected I mentioned. I no longer have my boat nor manual for reference and this is the best I can do.

HTH,
Mark
