quicksilver control stuck

I am stuck and connot figure out why my shifter will not move. At the beginning of this year i got the boat out and did the usual prep and started it to run. When i put the boat in gear forward it was fine. I then engagd it in reverse and it will not return to neutral. It will continue to be pushed down, but cannot return it all the way up. The cables are all new and i has the control apart two different times. The only thing i can think of it is doing is binding on the lever/ gear assembly that moves the shifter cable. It would seem to me that there is just too much play in it and the gears are not coming togethr and meshing well.

ALso if anybody has one of these for sale or know where i can get one responable PM me please.
I have seen a few on ebay for around $200... hoping to try and find one a lil cheaper

iboats sells replacement controllers, I believe....

Hi Rocket,
I have exactly the same throttle control on my 89 SR 180 BR. I've just had to remove mine as I'm re-upholstering the side panel. I think mine hadn't been touched since it was fitted. I have a Mercontrols manuals I copied from somewhere on the web and it gives you a step by step guide on dismantling and servicing this control. My trouble is I have no clue how to send it to you. Can someone advise please?
