Re: Radio Flyer Wagon

Well, the littlest aspeck got a wagon from "Santa Bart". She is tickled pink! Will get pictures downloaded at some point to share. Thanks for making her Christmas special, Bart! It was her favorite present!

Re: Radio Flyer Wagon

This time of year it is time to put away the Radio Flyer and get out the Flexible Flyer!

Yeah, good luck finding them anymore  Do they still make them?

A couple yrs ago I saw a similar plastic version in True value hardware, it was pretty sturdy, and actually was steerable! and flexible, it was designed to sit on, or lay on, (for bellywhoppin), they only had 3 left in the store, and not getting anymore in, so I bought them on the spot to give one to each of my 3kids, for the grandkids, and then also picked up 3well made, reasonable, electric scooters from Big Lots that year to go with the sleds. It was a great Christmas at Grandpa's house that year, watching my 7 grandkids, & 3 grown kids, riding the scooters down the block, and teaching the grandkids about "bellywhoppin" in the snow. :)

Re: Radio Flyer Wagon

My good ol' radio flyer...
A quick story; We live in a rural area... one day I was heading home and in this field I saw a corner of a radio flyer wagon sticking out of the mud. I stopped and looked at it... appeared to be in ok shape but buried. I went home and came back with shovel and dug it out... what a mess! It was beyond repair as 'stock' but I did what I had to and gave it to my nephew. Then my wacky sister had another kid so I found a second rotten one and gave it to the new little man.

It's wheelchair motor... the battery was out for some reason then.
Yes the wheelie bars are functional... all you have to do is lean back and it'll pop a wheelie.

Those are fun projects... here's my nephew doing a wheelie on it. He's gotten a bit big for it but he still loves it... everyone wants to wheelie it actually!

It inspired these too... I love making stuff for the kids... can ya' tell?

I changed that handle back to a longer t-handle and my kid tore the hood off the dragster right after that picture... it looked better without it so I just stuck a hat on him instead :)
