Yea thats the magma series of grills. Those are some real nice looking grills. I have ben looking at those. We wont be doing much more that burning a few burgers or hot dogs for the grankids but if you have it you never know. I found a SS portable grill a few years ago and have been using that but its a hassle to have to set up a table and the grill ever time. And I think one over the side would be a good bit safer around the kids

I have the same Magma Marine Kettle Grill for at least 20 years. It was first used on my 21' Starcraft Chieftan. Next it went on my 23' Sovereign sailboat. Now it is on my 20' Bass Buggy. My style of boats has changed over the years but not my choice of marine grills.

We have the Magma Newport infared. Great grill that's easy to light even when its windy.

Re: rail mounted BBQ grill

Our magnum grill is an integral part of our boating style. Wouldn't be the same without it.

Have had several mount types. Used the rail mount for a long time. For a while I used a rod holder. It seemed more secure but less flexibility in placement.

I've always mounted so I stand on the swim platform while grilling. Aft is the best placement because when at anchor, the smoke will be blown immediately away from the boat. I took it around to the bow railing once and smoked everyone out. Be prepared to lose some meat, especially hot dogs, overboard. Also, take backup grilling tools as you will lose some of them too lol.

This is what the Coops have http://www.***************.com/p/MAG-A10-801/#readmore along with the optional mounting hardware http://www.***************.com/p/MAG-T10-540/. I've been using it a couple of years now and it works great. I leave the mounting brackets on the rail and stow the grill when I'm not using it. The brackets are secure enough to allow grilling while underway, which we do very often. The folding legs mean you can take it onto an island, picnic table, etc. I've never done that, but it's nice to know I can. There's one burner that runs most of the width of the cooking grid and the stainless steel really radiates the heat, which means the stuff in the back corner cooks almost as quickly as the stuff in the middle. I've cooked the usual burgers and dogs along with porky chops and other good stuff. When it gets too dirty to ignore I lay it out in pieces on the driveway and hit it with the pressure washer. Here's of a shot of it in action.
