Hello Jim.
I can't say I need any, It seems California weather came to upstate NY where unbelievably yesterday January 3 it was sixty degrees and we were in t-shirts and shorts outside cleaning the yard and tossing leftover snow at each other.

Hi,

We could do with some. Was fishing two weeks ago at one of our dams which was at 32% full. Most our dams / lakes are below 50% capacity.

Send el ninio here.

Cheers
Andrew

Would think its spring here what with 65 plus temps and a whole lot of liquid sunshine coming down..Turning to all white by tonite and quite a mess will be enjoyed by most of us Buckeyes.
Chatted with BrianFD on chat last nite and he was sitting at top of his basement steps practicing Jigging techniques... ;)

Well....I could flip jigs out the front door right now. Yesterday was warm and had a good business in the tackle shop from guys getting their licks in before the weather turned again. Today is just crappy....cold, rainy and the creeks are up...way up. River coming up to. Oh well....it's Sunday...good day to just spend time with herself unless the Fire Dept. calls and we have to go running. Surprised ain't had any calls before now.

Stay warm and dry guys. :D

With the weather getting warm the snow melting, and now the rain, things are really mushy. The creek in my back yard has been at the top of its banks all morning. They are calling for single diget temps this coming week. BRRRRRR, at least the ground will freeze so I can haul stuff around in the yard. Every thing is just a soupy mess now.

Bomar, going to try to get my boat down to Alum Creek this year. Depends if the turbo on my truck is going to work or not. Probably take route 42 down to 36. Which ramp do you use or do you have a slip?

No way on earth I'd leave my boat(s) in the water!

We trailer...it's less than 20 miles for us. Normally we launch @ Galena ramp. Take 42 S to 36/37 E ...it will become a 4 lane highway once you leave Delawre. Continue on 5 miles or so. Cross over Alum Creek and turn right on Africa Road (used to be "3 B's and a K Road"). Follow that on down a couple miles, cross Cheshire Road (actually there is a really good ramp there) and Galena ramp will be a few miles South.
However, if you are at all close to 71, just come on down and exit at 36/37 and head W. Get in left lane ASAP and turn Left onto Africa Road at the RV dealer (just past all the gas stations/diners).
Maybe see you there!

SS..I ramp in at Cheshire..Its an easy access in and during the week no wait time..Alum Creek is where I start my spring Gator huntn..
If you can swing a day, meet me and we can do a little fishn together and also show you the lay out of the lake..
The Marina has slips but as with most places what is not locked down should be taken home at the end of day..
Bomar76..do you fish the warrior? Its one of the top spots to fish in the spring by the dam for muskys..
Your lake is also on my hit list this spring SS..
Always lookn for a fishn partner to share the day with...

Yep, know right where you go Bomar. Haven't been there for about 3 years. Use to go there alot when I had a smaller more trailerable boat. I'm just gonna make it a whole weekender now that I have a cabin to stay in.

I just won't feel comfortable on 71 doing the speed limit with my 27'. Go any slower and you just create accidents or get run over. I'm about 50 miles away in Mansfield, 42 is close by. Got my own truck now so I can go lake hopping. Hope to see you there sometime.

We are more into the "disturbing fish" aspect of boating :D ;) :D

My wife like Galena ramp sinc eit's in a cove and easier for her to load the boat in the calm water.

We spend 90% of our time rafted off N of 36/37 or back in one of the coves....normally the one way across from Cheshire. We may throw a cane pole into the water once in a while, but really don't fish out of our boat....not really set up for it.

Gone Fishn, SS, Bomar,
Let's plan on gettin' together sometime this summer, eh? Haven't been to Alum for a couple of seasons, so it's time to make a return visit. Always bring my better half. Maybe we can raft up north of 36/37?
Haven't really been jiggin' off the top step, like Muskie said, but I do have a trickle in the basement, hehehe. Will definitely be making a call to the basement 'waterproofers' in the a.m. Backyard has water closing in on the back porch... only about 15' to go. Had a dream last night about a booming voice out of the clouds and something about boat-building... 30 cubits by 40 cubits.... What the heck's a cubit?
