raise transom

Does anyone have any info on raising a transom. I have a 15 foot lund v bottom set up for a short shaft motor.However I had a very nice long shaft fall into my lap that I would like to use on this boat. Max hp is 40 the motor I have is 35.<br />thanks for any info

For 135.00 bucks get a tansom jack plate..helps in all areas. Here's a link to the manufactures page:<br /> web page <br /><br />Overtons or some other mail order outfit can give it to you for the price I quoted..<br /><br />The one at the top of the page is whatya need...<br />Form a lite aluminum sheet metal splash guard for the 5" your raising the motor....

The jack plate would be the way to do it. But---- having said that there is not much of a big deal to run a long shaft motor on a short shaft transom. I run my 9.9 that way on a 13' skiff with no problem.
