I would like to raise the X dimension on my alpha one 260 1 inch.
For those who may have done this, will this require a complete fill of the existing cutout first, or can the 1 inch and bolt holes be filled and and then adjust the cut.
Will be using epoxy not poly.

Re: Raising X on alpha 1

I have not heard of anyone changing the X dimension on an I/O........ Yes it's possible but the motor would have to be raised and the transom modified. (Both to prevent alignment issues)

I doubt 1" will give you much change for the cost and effort.

You could just get a prop that would allow for a higher stern ride.

Elaborate ;)

I would do engine work and build that up .

Everything you say is true. However every little bit helps. Motor is out for another issue. 24* deep V . Outdrive is too low. Most others I have talked with that have this hull agree that the X is too low. See the Journey II link.

I understand the process, it's the transom mod that the question refers to.

Ayuh,... It'll be Easier to fill the hole,+ start fresh....
You'll need to raise the motor mounts as well...

one inch will put the t plate at the limits of its hole coverage....i suggest you do what bond-o said
fill it good and re cut.

make sure you dont go to high or you will have issues.

to check if you are too low....check the anti cav plate against the height of the keel.
