Re: Raising your taxes, once again
Well, I'm going to wade in and agree with Pointer here. Municipalities or heck any government seemingly goes broke trying to break even it seems.
Government does have to be smarter if it wants to do more with what it receives in taxes...not just ask for more. Business/Private industry has to live by this or die....they just can't raise prices...or ba-da-bing the average guy/girl will then go to where the price is cheaper .
Businesses that respond to this outsource their manufacturing and thus their fixed costs by going to China for cheap labour/materials.
That said, anyone who has shopped at Walmart over the last month should back out of responding to this post....or be labelled a hypocrite.
Most municipalities if they were busness's would be bankrupt. Government wants more money they raise taxes. Business's want more money they very rarely are able to raise the price of their goods. They have to be SMARTER than that..... They have to be more efficient, they have to make more with less, they have to find better ways to do things cheaper. Funny how government never seems to take this approach. I wonder why?
