two posts from the local fishing forum. The first occured at a very busy public free ramp at Rudee Inlet, where I here it sometimes gets like the midwestern lake ramps we hear about here. The second, I'm surprised more folks didn't stop and I think eventually they would have.

<<<Saturday afternoon at Owls Creek, while loading my boat after the storm, I slipped on the dock and broke my leg.
I'd like to thank all the boaters that helped my girl friend and I , finish getting the boat on the trailer, out of the water and strapping it down, etc., while I laid on the dock.
My thanks also got to the paramedics from station 14 , (I think ) that were absolutely fantastic, my sister and brother in law for coming out to take my boat home, and all my friends that came over today to put the boat in the driveway and rinse down the motor, rods and gear.
Stay safe and don't slip on those docks at Owls Creek like I did.
Thanks again, Mark >>>

<<<Long story short..
Had some problems with the motor on a friends boat today while out on the water. Only had one boat come close engough for us to try to get his attention. This guy turned his boat to come check on us and didnt hesitate when we asked if he could tow us back in. AWESOME!! He not only got us in near Bluewater/Sunset in Hampton, but drove me over to the ramp we launched from so I could get my truck and trailer. Tried to give him the little bit of cash I had on me and offered to fill his tank, but he wasn't having any of it. He just asked that if we ever see anyone in need out there, that we do the same as he did. Will do!! Can't tell you how much we appreciated his kindness!
I just want to tell you again, Tommy, if you're out there.. THANK YOU!!!

I wouldn't call those Stupid Human Tricks.

Great examples of the kind of boaters we like around here.

Gonna move this to Dockside.

After all the bad stories we all hear about ramps and stuff, it's good to hear a couple of good stories. Karma will come around to all those who helped in the 2 stories Home Cookin' posted.

Re: ramp and assist as it should be

the reason I posted it there was because SHT is the forum where people post instances of bad behavior, so it fits the topic and adds balance. I have never looked at "dockside chat"; I thought that was for non-boating talk.

Nice stories. The more people like that around the better.
