So I took the new 1981 115hp johnson and my boat out to the lake yesterday for its epic test run.
The primer cylinder on it is missing, so I plugged all the hoses with screws until the new primer cyl. gets here.
I started it in the drive way before we left, took a few seconds but started, and after it started once, it continued to start just fine.
Well, about an hour after driving around, I shut it off to take a swim. Then wouldn't start back up.
So I took the screw plugging the fuel line into the primer out, and stuck the line into the carb cover, as to give it gas. It would fire for a second then die. about and hour later of this. I gave it one more try and it started right up, where i hauled butt back to the launch.
Now the lake police were hanging out near the empty launch, so i couldn't full throttle it in the no wake area, so i throttled down to were it was at idle, yet in gear, and it died and didn't start, so i swam it the rest of the way to the dock.
what could the problem of been?
