Was out working today and the guy where I wasat had two 15ft fiberglass boats in his back yard.
I walked out to check them out and the owner sak if I wanted to buy one.
I ask how much, $200 . I liked the Randell Craft. Side steering.

Problem, He removed the side steering console and the floor , the back wood where the motor sits and last but not least, the side walls and foam.

All looks good but the stringers are shoot.

Checking around my area and a bad used boat goes for $200 to $500.

A good riged, boat motor and trailer starts at around $1000.

I have a trailer and 20hp merc.

Ayuh,.. In that case, a Running boat will only cost 1/2 as much as rebuilding 1...

You typically don't want to PAY any money for a stripped out glass boat with no motor.

That's never stopped me, though :)

Maybe if it was a really cool boat, like a nice go-fast or a damaged RIB.

Plus the number one factor in choosing a boat to restore or use is the little voice that says in your head "I want *this* one". After you listen to that, it's just a matter of how good you are at keeping a poker face so the seller doesn't learn how much you're willing to pay for that big fiberglass bucket filled with water sitting on a pile of rusty metal.
