When we were kids Mum wouldnt let us watch Archie Bunker ( we did when we could ) but now that Im older and wiser I can see why ....the guy was a complete pig. I change channels now if he's on .

he was but that was the point. my parents would talk about why he was a pig so we understood. Over the years the character evolved as well.

Like many offensive humourists from the past, it shined a light. Norman Lear was known for those type shows. Pushing the limits.

Rape, racism, all of it on that show. All taboo subjects of the day.
