Blue cod here is knocking on 70 bucks a kg and a fillet of cold smoked salmon about 1.5kg vacuum packed is about 50 bucks .
Fillet steak is 70 bucks a kg and a 24 pack of Stella's is 63 bucks today.😬
And petrol.......😭 3 bucks a litre and climbing rapidly ( for 91)
I love your country (had 2 days there in 1978) and have thought many times of moving there but geezers, but my current beer ration would be a mortgage payment

Do wish we could get salt water fish at a more reasonable price. I've been getting Salmon for between 7 to 8 a pound on sale, regular price is 12. Most folks don't look at weight so they will probably buy it thinking there getting a deal.
I have two seafood houses with a 10 minute drive of the house. Unfortunately, between the areas wealth and tourism, fish, crabs and shell fish are crazy priced. Need to drive 40 minutes or so down to the fish houses (wholesalers) for decent prices.

I love salmon. My local fish market is closed for renovations for another month so I’m stuck with the grocery store. They are other markets but my regular market is the best. I can tell the difference between farm raised and wild caught fish. I’ll eat either but I prefer wild. My favorite Salomon is wild caught sockeye.

Same here in small town TN but they are open only 3 days per week and actually are in next town over.
