Now the previous 2nd oldest might now be the actual 3rd oldest, or always was but didnt know it , either way ,yeah hed be pissed . Dunno if it worse to relegated back to 3rd ...or to just find out that you were always 3rd when you thought you were 2nd. I guess cant be that stressed about it or they wouldnt have lived so long . Spare a thought for his siblings,some of who fell off the edge of the world at a young age

Since I have reached the age where “died unexpectedly” will probably not be in my obituary I have been thinking what it should look like. I used to live on the edge of a college town and most of the men’s pictures with their obituaries were done by photo studios or they were in a suit and tie being awarded a Nobel Prize or something.

I moved several years ago to a rural area of the county and I have seen that all the obit pictures have the same 3 things in common in order of most to less.

1. He is holding a fish
2. His picture is of him 60 years ago in his military uniform
3. Sitting on his favorite motorcycle

So this will be my picture, compilation of all three. Though my ’48 Indian chief was never that clean

Sooo......

Back in the early 80s when I was sub 15 years old someone bought me a Bloom County book. I read it on repeat. The below strip i had forgotten about until I saw it again but I now remember.

That got me to thinking of what made me who I am today, foundationally.

So im going to free my little brain up and see where it takes me.


As a sub maybe 15 year old kid:
Mash and Alan Alda, for two reasons. He and my dad look similar and the mash humour from both of them focuses on absurdity of life.

I was an avid reader of the Sunday comics:

Peanuts
BC
Beetle Baily

Peanuts was more political than people think. Remember the first black character? When I was living with my grandparents about 7 years of age I would check out Peanuts books from the library. Thinking back, so many were political that I never realized until recently and have done some research last couple days on political cartoons which have a long and storied history back a few hundred years.

Dad has, and is still, writing books. Most are tough to read thru his writing style (syntax) some of which I carry here in my posts and we sound so similar alexa calls us the wrong name all the time.

I sure do miss her. Prob my favorite boat of the 20 or so I've owned. Not the correct boat for this stage of my life so im sad and ok at the same time.

Always had dreams of dropping in a 454 (plenty of room to replace the 360) with a B3. As it was i could hit 43 mph at WOT, would been fun.


This was 13 years ago. We dropped a trailer in the water and they set her in that. I did some adjustments and we went home.

She was abandoned at the marina, i basically got it for free and you know what they say. Prob had 15 to 20k in it when i sold it.
