thanks to the electrical help I got from people here I,m driving my
boat and the motor is running very nicely thank you very much.
On an 18,6foot princecraft springbok going from the 40hp mariner
to the 90hp merc made a huge difference in speed the boat is empty very
light and it just jumps out the water at a 1/3 throttle, fantastic!
I have a tach from a 70's 6cyl merc and on the sticker are the options:
range selector 1=4cyl 4cycle,2=6cyl 4cycle,3=8cyl 4cycle,4=12pole alter.
My 1991 90 merc is a 3 cyl 2 stroke and has the red stator+adapter,do i have to count my magnets or something?can I use this tach and how
should I set it up.I'm planning on using the tach plug from the old
mercontrol and install it in the newer quicksilver control box where
it is missing, the mercontrol uses white, black, brown, while the wires
hanging out of the quicksilver controls are blue gray black. Is blue +?
and what should I set the selector? thank you again thanks to you I
now have two working boats tied up at the dock!
