ranger restoration , metal flake

Does anyone know of a way to restore the metal flake shine on a fiberglass boat?<br />Thanks in advance for any help offered.

Hey merc-a,<br />The only way I know of to restore your "metal-flake" look to your boat is a coat of clear. Depending on what color the metal-flake is, you might be able to put a small amount of pigment in the clear (blue pigment for blue metal-flake etc.) and make a translucent coating. This is the way REAL candy apple paint jobs are done.<br />My boat has gold metal-flake,but it's on a black base so I had to use just clear (no translucent black). The finish looks like new but it's still gold flake on black.<br />Keep us posted and let us know what ya do and how it works.<br /><br />c/6<br /><br />Hooty
