Rant: Can't catch a break with weekend weather...

I would be more than happy to get some rain, what I am tired of is cool windy weather.

I finally got out on Sunday for my first outing of the season. Near perfect day on the lake, everything performed as it should. Even caught a few walleye while testing all the trolling motors and electronics. Had some nice weather earlier in the month as well as last month, but something always seems to come up when the weather is good.

Last year I put the pontoon in on May 25th, looks like it will be the same time this year. I hope the swallows have already built their nests, we get a pair that builds a nest underneath the deck, trying to enjoy a boat ride and you have panicked swallows circling the boat.

Well... my outing tuesday started off as a railing r&r. They sent a wrong part and I refuse to pull it apart twice so I abandoned that. Then washed the boat, repaired the trailer lighting and some other miscellaneous stuff. Had it on the charger all night an morning. Went to start.... nothing. 7 year old battery, guess I got my money's worth out of it. Finally got on the water at 4:30. Ran well, got the bulk of the carb tuning finished.

Well the weather has finally come around, it is now hot and dry. Evidently perfect weather for pollen, the pine trees are puffing like smoke. My voice is gravel my eyes are caked shut in the morning, this is the opposite of fun.

Good day today and I was able to take advantage of it. Thankfully not all lakes that I have access to are flood control lakes... flood control lakes are sky high right now (Monroe is 12ft+!).
