Well it will definitely go in easier than it came out just because now I know. I won't have to climb in and out of the boat to get the right sized socket and wrench. should be a less than 15 minute job just waiting for the temps to go down, afternoon sun is brutal where the trailer is parked. Funny my wife asked does this mean we can take it for a rip tonight? Nope the starter project came up before I completed detailing the inside of the boat. I need to take the boat into town and vacuum it and then wipe down the interior then it will be ready.

I get simplicity of an outboard, I am running a single screw no gimbal etc. Can you at full speed crank the steering wheel boat spins on a dime without caveating? I understand working on stuff that is compact is frustrating. I hate working on my Mastercraft but I do love driving it.

Worked for a farmer for a couple summers in my mid teens, who had the portable machinery to clean grain for seed, and took it around to other farms. Whether it was being fed at those places (I remember one in particular), small town cafes once in a while, or just the lunches his wife packed us, I was always impressed. And my mom was a decent cook; the "country" way was was just a little different. Good memories. Hard work.

I have this neat thing bolted to my cav plate which allows me to slalom without cavitating ...not that I make a habit of it ( do stern legs stick down further than an outboard ?).
Here at Riverton we have a sand bar and at low tide there is about a foot of water over it ....I can still get my boat out over that...we both sit on same side so boat lists enough that one side of the bottom is horizontal and with a bit of sand polishing the prop and a bit of foaming of water over we go . Only gotta go about 3 boat lengths on its side ...we been doing this for years and she still hollerin about being able to see the bottom 😁😁🤐🤣🤣. Oooh last time she was so enthusiastic I got distracted ( its hard to fall about laughing in a small boat ) and give it a handfull of throttle before trimming outboard back down and stood the boat up on its arse ....I reckon that peeps on shore must has heard that sermon ....and she gets all negative......untill she gets her 1st fish and then shes a blimmin psycho fish killing machine 😁😁😁you wanna hear her when one gets off ( again ...peeps on shore) .🤣

I understand that sentiment! I laughed and my wife gave me “that look.” I read your post and she smiled and said, “That tracks.”

So at a conference on Lake of the Ozark staying at Margaritaville. I had to wait for my room to be ready so I went and had lunch at the lakeside restaurant. There is no way you could get me to board a boat on that lake. Big boats, fast boats, all driven by fools.

god i grew up there

it was horrible in the early 80s, bad as a young adult in the mid 90s can only imaging now. I am not a huge fan of govt or whatever restrictions but LOO is the poster child for unchecked growth gone horribly wrong.
