Re: Rapido Assembly

So does Rapido make a habit of fitting 305 heads to their engines or was this a genuine mistake? It's great that Raul is taking care of you, but the initial problem was the wrong heads, despite all thes discussions I am none the wiser if this is a general practice of rapido to fit 305 heads or was it an error? Just trying to understand..

Very true...and local machine shops are getting fewer and farther between all the time. Even out here in the ag-based boonies.

Re: Rapido Assembly

another thing.... lets say you didn't catch the mistake.... because in my mind it is a BIG mistake. Lets say you put the motor together. took it out for a sea trial... blew the engine because your compression was way to high and you were running leaner than george forman....
who pays who for what then????
lets say all that happens and you drown and die... who pays for your poor wife and family?

When your a car mechanic, or a car engine builder. And you have a bad day, or you make a mistake, or you guess and are wrong, or you don't know what your doing, or you just stink in general... about the worst that will happen is the customer will break down, and he will need to be towed, and that stinks but life goes on.
When your a boat mechanic... and repeating all the the above... making a mistake can have catastrophic consequences depending on where the customers runs his boat. And that's how you have to think.
Next time any of you are in an airplane, think to yourself... hmmmm i wonder if the last mechanic to work my plane woke up with a hangover or not this morning.

Re: Rapido Assembly

Sorry, I mean "speak", and "when".I have no idea what you mean bye mother. I type at 50 words per minute and did not check my grammar. We are not going to continue to indulge competitors or waste our time with racists.
We purchased 30 engines direct from GM(warranty engines they had arround) and we found 2 original 350 engines with 305 heads..Can you believe this? Maybee they also made a mistake. I have only found this with Vortec engines. My guy got a 880 LB original and we built it the way it was. We will not overlook smaller valves on a 350 again because the bad press is not worth it to us and we have a great reputation. When you are good , competitors always want to bring you down for anything, but we ae not going anywhere, and prices are going to get even better, so get ready. If anyone wants to reach me, call RUN-663-FAST .This thread has ended. Why don't you just give it up jason! English may not be his native tongue, So What? Maybe you could do better in something other then you're native tongue? You got his drift, his meaning, It doesn't mean he can't build good engines, this is uncalled for.

Re: Rapido Assembly

Raul has shown that he cares about his customers and is willing to take care of them. When I want a longblock I will definitely look him up. This situation and thread tells me that Rapido is a company that I would do business with. Mistakes happen. If anything this should result in more customers.

Re: Rapido Assembly

I agree with others that it was just a mistake that was handled in a professional way. Nothing I've seen in this thread that would keep me from considering them.

Tony, you could flag thread to admins to lock it down from continued posts.

Re: Rapido Assembly

the alternate reality of iboats,
where you can do a compression test and determine compression ratio and cylinder head volume. this place is great.
