Hello all, We are in need of a new impeller and figure we will change out the bearing and seal while we are at it. http://www.marinepowerservice.com/B...D=193457&parent_cat=454917&parent_cat1=454920
Shows all parts. I found the bearing OEM pretty cheap. We see the retaining ring and undid it but nothing moved freely. We would like to know how to take the pump apart so we can replace the bearing. We wanted to find out fore sure before we really start putting pressure anywhere. Thanks

Not sure what what u have, but I have a 4.3 glg with a sx-a drive and the raw water pump on mine was not serviceable. Other than the impeller

Re: Raw Water Pump Bearing Removal

*UpDate* We were able to separate the brass pump from the base by removing a retaining clip and light prying with two screw drivers between the pump and base while being careful not to scratch anything important. It came apart relatively easy, i had been dowsing the whole thing with WD prior days. Then with access to the front of the bearing we made ourselves a punch tool that fit in the base and pressed evenly at two points on the bearing. While supporting the base and not the bearing from the front side, we were able to punch out the bearing without excess force. will post pics of process soon. Looks like we will be able to rebuild with new bearing impeller and seal for about 80 bucks. Good deal.

I took these pictures after i had the pump apart. so i just set the baring in there how it would be, because i really didn't want to put that old one back in for the picture. And before prying it apart with the screw drivers i removed a retaining clip off the back of the pump
