Hey guys. I have a '74 Glastron with a 5.0 Ford V8, AQ190(I think), 270 Volvo outdrive. The seawater pump is shot, impeller worn out, not pumping water, been glued together before I bought the boat. Its a Jabsco #17410. Is there a way to convert to a crank mounted pump? Replacement pump is crazy in price and hard to find. Please give me info and options. Thanks.

There are crank mounted pumps out there, unfortunately, I don't know what the numbers are. I just worked on an Ford 351 in an inboard (Mastercraft) ski boat that had one.

How far will debris get past the seawater pump? Found a replacement inpeller in the boat. On top of being glued together, the back plate is scored and the wear plate (I think it is) on the pulley side is warped. So should I trash it and buy new? Just want an opinion before I shell out for new. Found new on ebay for $225. Good deal? Thanks guys.

That is not my pump. I'm sure mine is shot. I'm just wondering how far I should look for pieces of impeller before I start tearing things apart.

Hummm.... Thats the pump for the aq190 ford.

Check the thermo housing, after that, the pieces are headed for the block or the exhaust manifolds.

You might want to post some pictures, The AQ190 didn't come out till 76, you have a 74 boat. Who knows what you have there. Could be something a previous owner created out of a bunch of parts.
