I have found out that the temp sensor wire was rub bare, touching the block.Could that be why it could have been going into slow mode??? Plus did the ground test, no alarm nor buzzer...could it have damage my power pack????????

When you test the horn, you ground the control end of the disconnected wire, and the ignition switch must be on.

On an engine with S.L.O.W., ff the tan wire from the temperature switch is grounded while the engine is running, the powerpack will activate S.L.O.W. and the horn should sound a constant alarm.

Once in S.L.O.W., the engine must cool and be turned off to return to normal operation.

what motor we talkin bout?

open the control to access the warning horn and test to see whether it's getting 12v from the accessory circuit (purple wire), and test the tan wire for continuity -- might be an open circuit fault along in there, or the horn might be faulty.

If you get the test beep when you first turn on the ignition switch the horn is probably OK.

Sounds as though you have a break in the tan wire at some point, probably in one of the plugs.

The light is just another way of providing a signal. You have an indication that your signal is OK by the start-up test. Your problem is in the wiring between that and the temperature switch, most likely in the connectors.

BTW, you should aways indicate the year and model of motor in the beginning of your threads so we know which system you have. http://forums.iboats.com/showthread.php?t=250879
