simple? yep
takes about 7 hours to replace the bellows,2 ujoints, and the input yoke and gimbal bearing due to water damage.
they tend to drown very easily.

Exactly, Why would I change them if they look fine and no water leaks AT ALL when I removed the drive at the end of last season? I'm not sure how old they are but there were no cracks, not stiff or anything so YES my mind is made up.....I will change everything next season but I will monitor any water intrusion in the bilge and pull the boat and replace bellows etc. (WAY before any serious damage will happen) I am all about preventative maintenance but there is no need to change them this year.(they could only be 2 years old for all I know) no records available on changing bellows

Like the saying goes, "you pays your money and you takes your chances".

I hope things come out well for you... hopefully you won't have problems with water intrusion. If you do, you might not be able to catch it in time, and we'll be interested to see what happens :)
