Re: Re-installing the LU Inline 6 Merc
Thanx Laddies and Clams!

Went together nicely, I wound up using neutral. Tested forward and reverse, all good

Found the source of the water in oil contamination and sorted that out aswell
Will refill from the drain plug as per your instructions later this week.

The engine is now totally rebuilt.
Carbs fully rebuilt
Fuel pumps fully rebuilt (Including the casings ;P)
Water pump checked (Always had good tell tale)
Stator earth corrected and improved.
All ignition earths redone and verified
Trim and tilt. Fully rebuilt.
Steering. Stripped and cleaned. Great improvement.
Link and Sync done to clams' post
All grease nipples greased.
All suspect electric wires replaced.
All air intakes in the casing and shrouds opened.
Vacuum side of fuel line fully rebuilt.
Tank cleaned and checked.
Rev counter reading verified. (Is/was out by a lot

, and promptly blew up a day later :-/)
Compression test good +-120 PSI (+-1) on all cylinders
Reed valves seem ok since I can idle in neutral at 750rpm and shift into gear without the motor dieing. Getting around 600-650rpm in gear iirc.
Lotsa rain here the last coupla weeks so the dam is filling up nicely.
Wake board and tube ready for action.
Apholstry redone here and there.
We're considering a voltage regulator due to the speedo blow-up, but it could've been a spike due to the bad earth on the stator.
