Hi Everyone,

Back around the end of June, I had a post talking about an overheat event I had and I got some advice from Texasmark and Silvertip about re-piping the telltale source from the thermostat discharge over to the hose coming off of the exhaust manifold. I got all of my other issues resolved and the boat has been running great.

Well I got a wild hair and completed the re-route this morning (almost got heat stroke in the process). Cranked her up on the muffs and got a great stream of water, stronger than it has ever been. However, after thinking about what I had done, I was wondering if I am going to have any issues with the poppit valve. Since the hose I tapped into comes from the exhaust manifold and services the poppit valve, will my tap reduce the pressure against the poppit enough to prevent it from opening? I was going to go out in the boat in the morning, just wondering if this is going to be a potential problem.

Thanks for the input.

Answered this in your personal message question. No problem for the reasons given.
