Re-Powering options

Im getting rid of my sterndrive twin 165 mercruisers, adding a bracket and putting outboards. My boat is a 25 ft. Wellcraft Cuddy. Large boat for 25 ft too. I have been thinking of going with 150's or 200's.. Anyone have any reccomendations as far as horsepower. Th bracket is rated for 600 hp. I dont want to overkill with the horsepower, but I want to have plenty of get up and go. Thanks in advance.

split that wallet open and go for twin 2004 suzuki 4 stroke EFI 200 hp v6's.....

Whooooaaa... Nelly... Im not sure my wallet splits open that far.. Matter of fact I know it dont.. Would be nice though.. Lol.

Hey, Stalker.<br /><br />You just said you were considering twin 200s.<br /><br />Your wallet will have to split pretty far for that. Or were you considering used engines?

Im considering some newer used models. I would love new four strokes but I dont know yet what Im gonna do. Im not even sure Im gonna do it right now. Snapper season opens up soon and I would hate to miss it. Ill probably wait until the season is over before starting. Im gonna get my bracket and start looking for motors that way I will be ready to get on with it once I start..

Deffinetely go with the 200's. I have a 25' HydraSport and it moves out nice with the 200's. It was repowered by the guy I bought it from, it originally had 150's and he said it was sluggish and the 200's were a big difference. If I were you the only thing I would make sure of is that I got either injected 2 strokes or 4 strokes, because my twin 200 Johnsons absolutely suck down gas, it gets to be a little bit off a pain when your always filling the tank, and I have 200 gallons to always fill.
