Also keep in mind when you use the cleaner right after it dries you need to use the teak oil or what ever product your going to use. If you use the cleaner then wait the next day or two to oil it, the teak will fish eye; the sun will draw fresh oils to the surface of the wood.
Ya the boat is being gone through and the wheel will come off as I am changing the dash a tad anyway. But I wanted to keep the wheel and not just replace it with another. The stuff I bought today was just a cleaner. it was what i wanted to do next that I was wondering about. I like the idea of a longer laasting product, thanks.

Re: Re-Teak project..any suggestions?

Already decided to get the teak guard and ordered it today. So no worries about me just cleaning and waiting. I am in no rush to mess something up.......LOL.

I did not get the kit though as I already ordered up the Te-Ka 2 part cleaner. So far I have cleaned up my garage to start setting up for a fun project and this weekend I will begin taking the teak off I am thinking I should see things showing up here early next week.

I havent heard of that cleaner. Hopfully when you use the cleaner it opens the pores of your teak so the teak gaurd can penatrate in.

Hi,
I am following up on TeakGuard performance. I see pros's and con's on the various forums. Your finished project looked great. Are you still satisfied with the product and was it the TeakGuard from the store in Ohio? We are thinking of using on the deck of our sailboat. We used Cetol for years but are not happy with the upkeep. We sanded everything off and are ready to start over. Thanks

Yup. I'm extremely happy with the product!
I think its the best product on the market right now.
But what ever you do , don't rush the sanding process.
Yes, I bought it from the company in Cincinatti, Oh.
I posted the Ph# in an earlier thread on the page.
