OK. I've got mine half installed & I'll be on the water this weekend.
Would have been done last night but I'm moving the motor to a homemade jack plate to try to alleviate another issue. Should be complete tonight.

Got mine, but waiting on a steering link to install. Don't want to touch the boat until everything is in hand. It would have been nice to get this in March or April, but I'm not complaining.

Finished the install before dinner yesterday, after work. So far so good. Easy install, everything went together like it should. I'll try it out on the water tomorrow!

How many turns lock-to-lock is your new steering? It's supposed to be 4.2, but mine ended up being about 5.5.

I have one in the box at home and your lock to lock question made me think a little. I looked up everything I could find on line and saw no reference to L to L stated as 4.2, there is no listing. The only info I saw that stated 4.2 was

It also offers the smoothest NFB clutch release and has a smaller footprint than the current 4.2 helm.

This new system fits the standard Teleflex dash cut out with standard Safe-T and 4.2 bracket.

Also saw this

30% reduction in Steering wheel effort compared to the 4.2 Helm.

5.5 divided by 4.2 does equal 1.30. If everything else is equal more turns would reduce the effort (force) required to turn the wheel.

You're right. I guess I just assumed it was 4.2 because they kept comparing it to the 4.2. helm. I thought the 30% reduction was because of the new "Xtreme" technology, not just a simple change in gear ratio.

The quick review is Works Fantastic, love the NFB. My old steering lasted 38 years, I'll update this in another 38 years and provide a long term review. I did a WOT test and will get the vid on the thread asap.
